Nissan Note (06 on) - Review Review by David Ross on 08 February 2006 Last Updated: 23 February 2011 The Nissan Note gives normal hatchback buyers food for thought. Although it's a similar small people carrier like the Vauxhall Meriva and Renault Modus - and comes with a versatile and family-friendly interior - it's significantly larger but manages to retain the look of a more conventional hatchback. In fact, it's spacious enough and such good value that canny Ford Focus and Vauxhall Astra buyers should give it serious consideration too. That's because the Note is a good all-round package. In addition to its exceptionally useful interior, it's fun to drive, well equipped and cheap to run. Air conditioning is a £600 option. Step-up to the SE for air conditioning, a cooled glovebox, curtain airbags, 15-inch alloy wheels, split-level Flexi-board boot storage system, electrically-adjustable and heated door mirrors, flip-up tables plus colour-keyed bumpers and door handles. The range-topping SVE gets electric folding mirrors, 16-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights and wipers and dark tinted rear windows. In July 2007 the trim levels were changed to Visia, Acenta and Tekna (replacing S, SE and SVE). All models have colour-coded front and rear bumpers, an auxiliary input for Mp3 players or iPods. The Acenta gets Bluetooth while the Tekna has privacy glass. In 2012 Nissan increased the level of equipment on the Acenta and N-TEC+ trim level. The Acenta trim received 16-inch alloys, body-coloured mirrors and front fog light surrounds. While upgrades on N-TEC+ includes rear parking senors.
