What does this car say about you?

I'm only 25 but I need a big car for work. Mine's printed with my company name so you can tell it's a work vehicle in my case. My friends think its a funny shape but they appreciate how practical it is. Let's face it - nobody thinks this is a good looking car.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Everyone who's been in it likes it. It's just as comfortable in the back as the front so it's good for driving groups of adults around.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Probably not this version, simply because it's a really old design. It has a very long gear throw and that makes it feel old. Although, if mine was written off or something I would get the same again until I can afford better.

What are you likely to buy next?

Probably the successor to this - the next Berlingo. It's much more modern and has a few better features.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £3,500

When did you buy the car?

    October 2009

Did you get a good deal and why?

Probably got an average deal looking at other prices at the time.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Good value, need a big load space

    What was the dealer like?

Bit of a cowboy. I'd be more careful using that guy again.

  • Driving it

    3 out of 5 3.0

    What's it like to drive?

It's OK to drive. Feels like a van but the HDi engine is great. I get around 45mpg without trying to drive in a fuel efficient way and still doing 80mph on motorways and plenty of town driving. It's quick enough and pulls up hills nicely.

    What's it like to park?

Parking is pretty easy because you know the shape is very box-like... same shape as the space you're parking in usually.

Have you had any problems with the car?

Had to replace a broken spring costing £80 fitted. Wasn't causing a problem but it was found during a service and I want to keep it working well so I got it fixed. Could've been broken when I bought it though as it wasn't noticeable without looking.

What's most practical about your car?

It's got a huge load space. With the rear seats folded down it's basically a van. It can hold 5 adults in comfort with loads of legroom all round and still has a massive boot with the seats all in place.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The storage spaces in the roof are really useful. It also has storage in the floor which is great for keeping it tidy but still having everything you need in the car like de-icer, drinks, coins, etc.
