• Summary

What does this car say about you?

That I'm a practical, boring, not too rich old bloke.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Mum loves it because she can get in and out so easily. Rest of family love it because I can lug them all and their junk around with no problem. Neighbours probably snigger but out of range!

Would you buy this car again and why?

Probably not. Why should I get rid of it if it stays as reliable and useful?

What are you likely to buy next?

Probably the nearest alternative to the Picasso I can afford to buy provided it has a 5 star NCAP rating (the Picasso is 4 star). It would be good if it was a bit more fun to drive too. I'll see whats available when the time comes.

  • Buying experience

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchise

Did you buy this car new?

    Yes

    What price did you pay?

    £11,000

When did you buy the car?

    October 2005

Did you get a good deal and why?

I got a very good deal but I spent hours negotiating and in the end the dealer matched another dealers price "to keep my custom"

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

A lot of car for the money - big engine & practical

    What was the dealer like?

Willing to engage and negotiate. Quite fun for anyone prepared to play them at their own game!

  • Driving it

    3 out of 5 3.0

    What's it like to drive?

Excellent 2.0 turbo-diesel litre engine gives relaxed cruising and good pulling power. I like it. Handling is so-so and it doesn't always feel like its sticking to the road.

    What's it like to park?

Easy peasy if you don't mind reversing into parking spots. Still don't know where the front end actually is after all this time!

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

Touch wood, not so far after two and a half years and 25000 miles

What's most practical about your car?

Easy for old gimmers to get in and out of. Enormous load space and flexible, easily removed seats with a low sill and flat loading space

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

I like the finger tip radio / CD controls, electrically adjustable mirrors and the Citroen accessory bike rack I have fitted is brilliant (but not cheap)
