Value
Too basic for the money, but it does have air con.
Costs
None, part exchanged within 5 months for diesel model, "much better".

Handles well, but road noise from the tyres spoils refinement.

Engine always seems to be revving too much for any given speed.

Comfort
LX doesn't have the spacious rear seating option of the Ghia or Zetec.

No alarm on LX, only an Immobiliser.

I wanted to give the car back to fords but they wouldn't exchange it.

Engine
Engine revs hanging high between gear changes, looked at under warranty, but never fully resolved.
Other
Air conditioning stopped working, central locking locked me out car could only be opened via the key fob, A week or so later the drivers door handle failed to work. ALL FIXED UNDER WARRANTY.
