• Summary

What does this car say about you?

Cheap and cheerful, but don't underestimate its ability.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

My pregnant wife can't currently get in and out of it :-).

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes, I'd buy the more up to date one, purely because it's been a great car, for its age and mileage now it's been faultless, and although Hyundai are a cheaper brand of car, it's still just as good as any other mainstream brand on the road today. Aesthetically it's pleasing. Although If I could choose to stiffen the dampers via a seperate button manually that would be a better option.

What are you likely to buy next?

I now have a small family so I'm thinking of getting a Volvo V40 R-Design. This will be able to fit both my enjoyment from motoring along with being able to transport my family around. If I didn't have to get a family car then a Lotus Exige or an old Triumph Dolly Sprint to keep for weekends.

    £2,750

When did you buy the car?

    December 2011

Did you get a good deal and why?

The car was up for £3,000, but I noticed a small scratch in the door and managed to barter him down to £2,750, and for the mileage that was a great price at the time.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

I liked the look of the car and was after a coupe that was in my price range.

    What was the dealer like?

Very useful and pleasant to deal with.

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

The car is great to drive, the suspension is a sports set up meaning although it maybe a little harsh for some, means its great through corners. The speed of the car is reasonable, but how much do we all really need? There's no loss of power climbing the hills and the boot space is more than ample should you choose to have a buggy or something in there.

    What's it like to park?

This car is easy to park. There aren't any blind spots that you can't see with the mirrors.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

I've had to have new rear brake drums but other than normal wear and tear nothing (touch wood) has gone wrong with it.

What's most practical about your car?

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The car's not really filled with that many gadgets, but as I do a lot of motorway miles it's good to have a cruise control button on there. The twin tailpipes also makes it look more sportier from the rear as well.
