Summary

4 out of 5

What does this car say about you?
Wants a Range Rover but can't afford one :-)

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Impressed by the versatility, elevated road position and comfort.

Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes, but would go for the new version with an auto box.

What are you likely to buy next?
Sadly more likely to be a TDCi Mondeo or S-Max rather than another 4x4 given the price of diesel :-(

Buying experience

Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchise

Did you buy this car new?
Used

What price did you pay?
£15,000

When did you buy the car?
November 2004

Did you get a good deal and why?
Was an ex-demo with only 1500 miles on the clock and £1,000+ of extras. Saved about £3.5k over brand new for it being 2 months old when I bought it!

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Only decent 4x4 I could get for the money at the time.

What was the dealer like?
They were friendly and helpful and didn't pressure me in any way.

Driving it

3 out of 5

What's it like to drive?
Not brisk but adequate, didn't buy the car for its acceleration! Some restricted visibility at front/rear pillars. Wish I'd bought an auto though......

What's it like to park?
Quite a large turning circle so can be a job in the car park; tend to use wider spaces where possible (parent & child).

Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?
Only usual wear & tear, no mechanical problems to date.

What's most practical about your car?
Versatility, huge boot, plenty of storage.

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Opening tailgate window; handy if someone parks too close to the boot lid.
