What does this car say about you?
I like good solid engineering.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They think I have more money than I do. A 56 reg Focus will fetch more than my car, but wont hold its money anywhere near as long.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Probably not. I wish Id bought a C270 or E320.
What are you likely to buy next?
Any 56 reg onwards five or six cylinder Mercedes.

Did you get a good deal and why?
Got it very cheap. £1000 under book, but this was when the market plummeted to rock bottom. I was in the right place at the right time and had the cash to negotiate without a p/x
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Had two Mercs before but both had serious rust. I hoped this one would be different
What was the dealer like?
As per the vast majority, polite, helpfull, willing to negotiate. A full test drive was allowed and a three month AA warranty thrown in.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Typical harsh noisy diesel when cold. E class and 5/6 cylinder cars are better. Once warmed up its smooth and acceptably quiet. Driving position is like all Mercedes..superb.
What's it like to park?
Awfull. I reverse until ive got an inch of space left, get out and see a gap of five feet! Park distance sensors needed. Otherwise its more down to the driver than the car.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
An ongoing gearbox problem. Thumping into gear. Partly MB's fault for deeming them sealed for life when in fact they need regular oil changes. I need to find £600 for a new valve body.
What's most practical about your car?
One day its an upmarket car to go to a function in. The next day it'll take a chopped down tree to the rubbish tip. Two adults, three kids, a dog and five pushbikes is achievable.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Hard wearing MB-tex interior, Very good sound system.Adjustable everything.
