  • Summary

    5 out of 5 5.0

What does this car say about you?

Smart, professional and must have a pretty good career.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Love it, everyones very complimentary and surprised that i drive a car like this at my age (I'm 24).

Would you buy this car again and why?

Absolutely. They're not exactly cheap, but a hell of a lot of car for the money if you compare age/spec/mileage to a similar 3 series coupe for example. Economical, great to drive, comfy, quiet and has aged really well so still looks like a new car!

What are you likely to buy next?

Another Mercedes, probably get something like a C or E class estate when children are on the horizon. Will still want to keep the big diesel engine and great gearbox combo though.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £10,880

When did you buy the car?

    February 2015

Did you get a good deal and why?

They wouldn't move much on price but still very happy. A mint condition 08 plate with only 50k miles, full MB service history, top spec, fully comprehensive 2 year warranty and in tenorite grey, it was a no brainer!

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Leg room (I'm 6ft 5), build quality, looks, economy, spec, price and performance.

    What was the dealer like?

Friendly, knew their stuff and specialised in used Mercedes Benz.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Great. The 7G-Tronic gearbox always feels like its in the right gear, unlike other automatics i've driven. The flappy paddles are good fun when you want to have a play. Engine is silent when you're cruising but sounds nice and throaty when under load or hard acceleration. Suspension is firm to remove body-roll but doesn't sacrifice ride comfort. Considering its on low profile tyres and 18 inch wheels its still very comfortable and quiet!

    What's it like to park?

A doddle. The park-tronic system is very good and due to there being no B pillars the visibility alongside the car is good.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

Didn't realise when i went to view the car but the windscreen washer jets for the front don't work. All under the warranty though so its booked in at Mercedes now to have that sorted. Otherwise, no problems.

What's most practical about your car?

The leg room. Being 6ft 5 i spent a long time trying out loads of different cars but always felt like i was crammed in like a sardine. Not in this.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Hard to name just one. Front cup holder is a nice rare extra, the steering wheel lowers and raises for you to get in and out thanks to the full memory package, automatic active bi-xenon headlights are very trick, stereo is good, heated seats are nice and the arm which hands you your seatbelt puts a smile on everyones face! I could go on!
