MG TF 1.6 16v (115ps) 2d (2002/52) - Owner Review

Good boot size for a sports car. I can get a golf bag and trooley in it! Easy to get the hood down but don't crack the plastic rear window in the winter.

Summary

4 out of 5

What does this car say about you?
Old guy trying to recapture his youth maybe?

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They like it and are surprised how cheap it was.

Would you buy this car again and why?
Probably not. If I did it would be the latest Chinese model as it has the N-series engine which to date has not suffered the head gasket failures that have plagued the MG Rover cars with the K-series engine.

What are you likely to buy next?
An old classic like the MGB probably. Or if I stay modern, probably a second-hand Mazda MX-5 for better reliability.

Driving it

4 out of 5

What's it like to drive?
Good fun, handles well. Great on a sunny day in the countryside with the hood down - can't beat it! I changed my dampers for the MGOC comfort handling set (Bilstein)and this makes for better comfort as the standard ride was can loosen your fillings!! Expensive but worth it.

What's it like to park?
Easy as it has power steering

No

Nothing to speak of.
