MG ZS Saloon (01-04)

Value

4 out of 5

Affordable sportscar for the average man.

Costs

3 out of 5

Only had to pay for tyres and brakes so far (trade price and mechanic friend saved me some dosh), servicing quite expensive, thank god for the warranty (see reliabilty).

Driving

4 out of 5

Easy to drive, good brakes and clutch, gearbox sometimes difficult to engage gear.

Performance

2 out of 5

A sheep in wolf's clothing. Have added Pipercross filter kit, making noticeable difference, but still too slow. Acceleration in 5th is laughable. Excellent handling though.

Reliability

1 out of 5

New shock absorber, new cam followers, new electric mirror switch, radio out 3/4 times as not receiving signal properly, exhaust rattle, new door sill kick plate, SRS light staying on, washer jets both broke, judge for yourself.

Good at first, now everyone's got one!

Comfort

2 out of 5

Not good for long journeys on motorways. Rear seats VERY uncomfortable.
