Surprisingly ill-equipped compared to my previous Nissan - a Primera. Considering the price of the car, I would have thought a trip computer would have been a standard feature, while you have to lean forward and manually change the dashboard info.

    Costs

    4 out of 5 4.0

I wasn't expecting it to be cheap to run, but it is relatively frugal. It's small tank costs about £50 to fill up and I can usually get about 450-500 miles on it.

    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

Comfortable position with an excellent standard-issue cruise control that I use a lot more than I expected. It soaks up miles on long journeys with ease. Good visibility, although I've had to have a few parking dents repaired to the rear bumper!

    Performance

    4 out of 5 4.0

It's fast. This dCi engine is much more refined than the old Di.

    Reliability

    2 out of 5 2.0

I have been surprised by this. A leaking intercooler needed replacing after 15k but, more significantly, the clutch burned out at 12k and 7 months old!

You feel you are driving a good compromise between a family car and a 4x4. It's refined and has a good reputation. It's like a chunky estate car rather than an 'in-your-face' off-roader.

    Comfort

    5 out of 5 5.0

Very comfy and spacious. Seats are just right and the driving position is multi-adjustable.

  • Security and Service

    Security

The car alarm system is very unreliable. I've returned it twice because it has needed to be re-set. I've now given up and have to manually lock the car.

    Service

    1 out of 5 1.0

Nissan would not accept responsibility for a clutch and flywheel that burned out after 12k and 7 months. They claimed it was my driving style (despite 26 yrs experience and no replaced clutches throughout my extensive car ownership. Cost me nearly £1000!
