Other Peugeot 207 (2006 - 2014) models:

  • Summary

    5 out of 5 5.0

What does this car say about you?

That I hold a full UK Driving license? I don't know, probably not a lot! Aren't overly bothered of what people think, I know it's not a Porsche, it's for practicality!

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

My family and friends like it.

Would you buy this car again and why?

I'd consider the GTI 207, but I wouldn't get rid of it for a GTI, I'd probably consider the 208 though, it doesn't make me want to avoid Peugeot.

What are you likely to buy next?

I like the new 208's and I like the new Fiesta ST's, I had a mk6.5 ST a few years ago and it was great, but thirsty. So not entirely sure, maybe something a little bigger, getting a little old now for 3 door hatches!

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    £2,000

When did you buy the car?

    April 2015

Did you get a good deal and why?

The car was up for £2000 with 42k on the clock, which was the lowest mileage and cheapest price I'd seen on Autotrader, and within my budget.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

    I needed a run about.,.

    What was the dealer like?

It was okay, the after sales was about as useful as a sundial at midnight but can't complain too much.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Great, can't knock it really, when I first picked it up it pulled to one side which the garage claimed was under-inflated tyres, I took it to pump them up and it turned out to be the tracking, this brings me back to the garages after-sales, I couldn't get in touch with them for them to have the tracking done under the warranty so fronted the £20 myself, couldn't be bothered with the hassle. It's quite high up so there can be a bit of body roll in corners but nothing a bit of counter-steering can't adjust! Steering is great though, it takes bumps in it's stride, but the cabin noise can be quite loud, which I reckon will reduce dramatically when I get some new tyres on it.

    What's it like to park?

It's wonderful to park, visibility is great all round and the light steering makes for an all round great experience!

  • Living with it

    5 out of 5 5.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

Started making a weird whirring sound as it approached 48k, no longer under warranty, took it to a garage they diagnosed that it was the clutch bearings so I had it all replaced, full clutch and the works for £260. The exhaust heat shield came away from the car, but I fixed this with a couple of cable ties... Why not!

What's most practical about your car?

It has a huge boot, I wouldn't say it's estate/saloon car large but it's bigger than the Corsa C or D, to put it in perspective. Ripped up all the carpet in my house and was able to get it all in the car to take to the tip, I have a 3 story terraced, to put it in perspective.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The trip meter is useful, and the fact it provides you with the 'range', it comes with steering wheel controls which is great. It has curtain airbags and on seat airbags. Safety is paramount these days.
