What does this car say about you?

I'm scruffy, cos it always needs a wash.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Everybody likes the look of the car from the outside. Everyone who's been inside likes the inside, although there's not much room in the back and the 3 door version is difficult to get in and out of. One niggle, the door handles inside are too far forward. Try to reach them from the back seat...I dare you.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Nope, purely from the annoying, unreliability. Catch 22, we start the car when going to or finishing work (most of the time) and the fault may or may not occur. We can't get car to garage cos we need to get to work. We can't get car to garage cos we finish afer it's closed. The fault may happen on a weekend, but the service department is full and we have to leave the car. No courtesy car available because you have to order one. It's a intermittent fault, so when will it happen and when do I get my psycic head on to book a courtesy car?

What are you likely to buy next?

I'm actually looking at Nissan Note and Fiat Bravo now. Only had the 207 4 months, but I've wasted so much time and energy going to/from garage I am seriously thinking about cutting my losses and selling. And telling friends not to buy a Peugeot. Which is a shame, because I really do love the car

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchise

Did you buy this car new?

    Yes

    What price did you pay?

    £9,200

When did you buy the car?

    May 2007

Did you get a good deal and why?

I went round a few dealerships, offering different ranges (Citroen, Toyota, Peugeot etc) and test drove the cars. I then took a little time to decide which ones were in with a chance and got a quote for part ex and reduction in price. I then asked dealers what offer they could make to ensure that I bought their car. ie they had to SELL me their car

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

    What was the dealer like?

Very willing to barter and a pleasure to do business with.

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

Good to drive, although is a little on the slow side and can be difficult to change down gears. You have to make sure you slow right down before changing down into second. Has got quite a big blind spot at corners due to sloping support strut.

    What's it like to park?

Easy from a manoeuvering point of view, although can be difficult to judge whereabouts you are in a bay

Have you had any problems with the car?

Oh yes!!! Car has been recalled for replacement alternator. Has also been in two franchises over ten times to try to sort out dodgy electrics. One dealer fixed the driver's side window and said that it was, "Misaligned". Then a few weeks later the passenger side window played up and the second dealer said that both windows should have had an upgraded seal, which does not seem to be fitted to my car. I've been to the dealership a few times (about 6/7/8) when the airbag/seatbelt fault light comes on. The problem has been "fixed" three times and not been found by the diagnostic equipment every other time

What's most practical about your car?

Steering is good at slow speeds, which makes parking simple (once you get used to not being able to see if you're lined up straight in the bay).

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Bass on the sound system is nice.
