What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

smart and spacious, great gadgets but they think it may be unreliable because its french, and i dont wish to upset the onion cart but i have had it 3 months and its not doing too well, they like the fact that it scores highly for safety.

Would you buy this car again and why?

NO, the gearboxs in these cars as i have discovered are an absoloute nightmare, if the teeth go inside the box then they cant even be bought and the whole system has to be completely fabricated at huge expense, it has also been brought to my attention that you should allow the engine to tick over before switching it off, the turbo's on these cars are pretty useless, doing this can prolong their life!

What are you likely to buy next?

Another BMW, i had a 3 series before this laguna and it served me well for 2 years, and i know things are expensive but mine just never went wrong! I think im up for a Z4 but dont tell the MRS!!!

Got around 500 knocked off the price through haggling

What was the dealer like?

stereotypical used car dealer, put did most of the things i asked, only problem was it appears that their MOT testing was not very thourough

What's it like to drive?

Smooth as you like until the gearbox goes!! Very comfortable and handles well, although its not too keen if you want to have a bit of fun!

What's it like to park?

its a very big, deceptively big car so parking and turning in confined spaces may seem easy but can actually become quite challenging

Have you had any problems with the car?

Gearbox has just gone on it, apparently mine is doing fairly well as it has lasted 103k normally they barely make it to 70k, however it has hit me with a repair bill of nearly £2000 just 3 days after the warrenty ran out from the dealership

What's most practical about your car?

its a very comfortable, easy to drive car with great fuel economy

cruise control!
