• Summary

What does this car say about you?

    I don't know and I don't care really.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They like it, we can sling 3 downhill mountain bikes and gear in it and still have room for 3 passengers.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes, it's fun to drive if you throw it around, it fits loads of climbing gear, paragliding gear - all the stuff that didn't fit in my Corrado VR6, my BMW 323 touring and before that my Golf GTI.

What are you likely to buy next?

This will stay in the family so I can still use it when needed, but a '71 VW Kharmann Ghia is being lined up.

When did you buy the car?

    February 2008

Did you get a good deal and why?

I think so yes, it was nearly 50% off new value at just over a year old, other dealers had the same model at £1200 more.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

    No

    What was the dealer like?

Motorpoint in Glasgow were OK you need to watch them trying to add extra charges.

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

Steering is too sharp otherwise it handles really surprisingly well. Ride is firm but not stiff and it grips better than my old Golf GTI [MK2].

    What's it like to park?

    Easy.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

Heater controls were fixed under warranty.

What's most practical about your car?

Space, economical - rubbish first then the engine loosened up and now returns 45mpg - not bad considering it's as aerodynamic as a brick.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Flexible seating, loads of bungee hooks and storage.
