• Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

Prepared to sacrifice some style over substance.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Well at least they look at it, usually with a puzzled expression. When the get in, the penny drops.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Too early to say, but with the same criteria and more money, would look at the new Skoda Yeti.

What are you likely to buy next?

Depends on what the needs are - we needed something for uni runs, dog transport, bulky sports gear on holiday etc, that returns 50 mpg, can park around town and behaves more like a car than a van. Right now the Roomster does it all.

    December 2009

Did you get a good deal and why?

Felt the price was fair and they had the model we wanted.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Downsizing from two cars to one.

    What was the dealer like?

Average. Unnecessary delays with plate transfer, better to put it on retention yourself beforehand.

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

Surprisingly nimble on fun roads. Plenty of torque from the 1.9TDi and fine for general driving. Reasonably comfortable given that my last car was BMW 5 series. Will cruise at high (70+) motorway speeds but noise becomes intrusive and mpg suffers.

    What's it like to park?

Easy, visibility excellent, reversing sensors unnecessary.
