Other Toyota Avensis (2009 - 2018) models:

  • Summary

    2 out of 5 2.0

What does this car say about you?

It cannot speak, so it says nothing! If toyota had put the speech recognition in it, then it might say something about me!

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

It seems to be invisible. It turns no heads.

Would you buy this car again and why?

No. I have enjoyed the previous model Avensis. This is a step backwards for Toyota. This is an very dull car and is perfect for people who see cars as tools.

What are you likely to buy next?

    Honda.

  • Buying experience

    3 out of 5 3.0

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Didn't buy from a dealer

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £12,000

When did you buy the car?

    December 2014

Did you get a good deal and why?

Price was fair considering it was from the main Toyota dealer.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

I had owned two of the revisions that were discontinued in 2008.

    What was the dealer like?

Surprisingly poor. The car preparation was not completed adequately. The internal lights were fused, the rear wiper was damaged. Dealer informed me that it was their own car, but when the log arrived it proved it was not.

  • Driving it

    1 out of 5 1.0

    What's it like to drive?

Horrible. There is no sensation in the steering which is quite scary when driving on winter roads as you want to feel the traction. There is no power in the motor there is not much torque. Gear changing all the time; like driving a small petrol engine.

    What's it like to park?

OK when not raining. The reversing camera is useless in the wet.

  • Living with it

    2 out of 5 2.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

Yes, fuse for internal lights blew and it sounds like a fan belt is slipping.

What's most practical about your car?

It is a good size car. Plenty of room.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The drivers door - so happy to get out of it...
