  • Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

That someone else chose it for me!

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

I work in a team of about 30; about a quarter of us have these, we all prefer them to the Toyota Avensis and Superbs that some of us have. It's about equally liked alongside the Mondeo's that some of us have. The engine pips it for us.

Would you buy this car again and why?

I wouldn't buy one myself; (high maintenance costs). But it has road presence.

What are you likely to buy next?

I've been given a Skoda Superb 15 plate... we'll see how it shapes up...

    November 2014

Did you get a good deal and why?

    N/A

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

No choice - it was assigned to me at work with 21k on the clock. 'Fleet' vehicle; used as a chauffeuring car.

    What was the dealer like?

    N/A

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Its strongest point. Very relaxing due to a quiet, refined engine, sweet gearbox and very adjustable lumbar supports on drivers seat. Nicest diesel I have driven. Watch your speed; the lack of noise means you don't realise how fast you are barrelling along. Massive range on the 55litre tank means you don't have to fuel up very often. Handling is good and doesn't drift on corners, the low stance and sheer weight makes it feel planted on the road.

    What's it like to park?

Rear visibility is better than some cars of this size.

  • Living with it

    4 out of 5 4.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

The car had been stood for weeks before being given to me. Two days later, the pressure valve in the turbo went. Went into 'limp' mode. No other mechanical issues, but I wouldn't want to be responsible for servicing costs... (Oh yes, the CD player has packed up too).

What's most practical about your car?

    Large boot.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The model I have has very little in terms of extras. No Bluetooth / hands free, which on an executive lump like this, you would expect.
