Good taste. Understated and quite classy though image not as strong as Golf.

OK
Would you buy this car again and why?
No. I have lost trust in the car with engine management problems and very expensive servicing. £573 for a 4 year service!

Reasonable price at the time. Cheaper than Golf.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
What was the dealer like?
Fine and gave me 3 years MOT vouchers for when the car needed them. Dealership then changed hands and new owners wouldn't honour them even though still VW. Very poor!

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Good accelaration, great torque and good driving position. Gearbox occasionally baulks in first.
What's it like to park?
Steering a bit heavy a low speeds especially as it is supposed to have power steering.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Engine management light kept coming on even though nothing wrong. Took a long time to sort. More recently intermittent power loss and water leaks. A few creaks and rattles.
What's most practical about your car?
Large boot.
