Volkswagen Fox (06-12)

Summary

1 out of 5

What does this car say about you?
Should have listened to that liitle nagging doubt when buying.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
When all the facts are explained most said they would be reticent about buying a VW, especially a Fox.

Would you buy this car again and why?
Never would I buy a VW Fox again Never would I purchase anything from Bridgwater VW, Somerset. Never will I buy a VW. 4th year - major service (no big extras like clutch needed doing) = £620.00 - rip off.

What are you likely to buy next?
Anything apart from a VW. Bad car, poor dealer, even worse customer service from VW UK.

£5,000

When did you buy the car?
April 2010

Did you get a good deal and why?

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
VW relability.

What was the dealer like?
Poor Promises were made about free interior mats, a tank of fuel, and using an anit-odour ball to get rid of an awful smell of wet dog. I made the mistake of not getting these commited to paper. Only the tank of fuel was forthcoming.

Driving it

What's it like to drive?
It wallows under braking, accelerating and cornering.

Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?
Major problem with the central locking which I complained about to both dealer and VW UK. The electronic central locking failed which in turn caused both door remote motors to burn out and the tailgate unit to shear off. This meant the front seat passenger was deadlocked and effectively trapped in the vehicle unless they have the forsight to climd over the driver to get out. Heated rear window failed - twice!!!.

What's most practical about your car?
It's high sitting postion.

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Smooth gearbox.
