I think the car suits me down to the ground and reflects my outdoor lifestyle. It's smart while being a practical carry-all at the same time.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
In silver it looks very smart (especially when it's clean) and receives admiring glances and comments from everyone.
Would you buy this car again and why?
I would buy this car again, for its economy and size. It will carry five people in comfort with plenty of rear legroom.

Another Volkswagen Passat Estate without a doubt.

Did you get a good deal and why?
The car was the cheapest model going for that year in my required spec that wasn't in black or white.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Bought the car for its internal space and economy.
What was the dealer like?
Travelled down from Leeds to dealership in Leicester due to the advertised price of the car. The dealership provided a very good service, 2 years servicing was on offer with the car, which I took. They understood that I would want the servicing done locally.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
I thought the 1.6 diesel engine may be underpowered however nothing could be further from the truth. I travel on the motorway to work everyday and I'm pleased to say that even on a long incline on the M62 the car makes the journey effortlessly.
What's it like to park?
It took a while to get used to the size of the car when parking as I previously owned a smaller Volvo V50 estate however with a little caution this hasn't been a problem and I have no problem at all with it now.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Nothing at all.
What's most practical about your car?
Unbelievable economy with the BlueMotion technology. It's the biggest car I have owned yet it regularly returns 60+ mpg.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Electronic brake system and auto hold. This is especially useful if you are waiting in traffic on a hill or when towing, which I do occasionally.
