Volkswagen Polo GTI (06-09)

Summary

5 out of 5

What does this car say about you?
Im not to sure, hopefully i know a good mix of power and build quality.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They all like it, gets a lot f compliments about its striking colour (flash red) and the interior as well.

Would you buy this car again and why?
I would probably opt for a golf GTi, purely due to the extra power, but by no means regret buying the polo for a few years worth of driving at least.

What are you likely to buy next?
Golf GTi, Audi S3, depending on what is the quality German hot hatch of the moment when the time comes for me to exchange the polo. Possibly even the eagerly anticipated new polo GTi released in 2010

£7,499

When did you buy the car?
January 2009

Did you get a good deal and why?
Compared to the other cars on the market i saved around 1000 for the year and mileage of the car, this was due to the january sales of the cars and the offer of straight up payment of the vehicle.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Quality build, qucik enough for the size, wanted a car that was going to last at least a further 2-3 years.

What was the dealer like?
The dealer was very efficient and helpful, this was one of the main reasons for purchasing the car from them.

Driving it

4 out of 5

What's it like to drive?
Its very easy and fun to drive. Quick, reponsive and nimble around the corners, it may not be a world beater for pace, but as soon as you reach the motorway, acceleration from 3rd gear upwards is quite amazing for the size of car and engine.

What's it like to park?
Very easy to park, good visibility and small, its basicly a smaller golf GTi with 50bhp less for 5000 cheaper.

What's most practical about your car?
The engine, i get good MPG whilst also getting a good deal of performance out of the engine.

Simple things, the easily height ajustable seats, optional adaptive xenon headlights, the classic GTi interior, 16" monza alloys.
