Peugeot 206 SW (02-06) - Review

Review by Parkers on
Supermini estates are thin on the ground. Only Toyota's comically-styled Yaris Verso and Skoda's Fabia estate compete, if you're buying new. The 206SW beats them both hands down. It looks good, has stylish interiors, a good range of engines and is great fun to drive. 2.0 HDi diesel is the best engine choice, but all are competent and cheap to run.

Comfort

The seats are voluptuous and spongy making it comfortable, although springy. Head and legroom are fine and there's ample room for two in the back. A bit short on refinement, with more wind noise than you'd expect and plenty of tyre roar on concrete motorways. Seats are comfy, some of the interior trim is garish.

Practicality

The extra length boot is a good shape and means that this comparatively small estate is actually very practical for small families. Back seats split-fold for extra carry space.

Behind the wheel

Some feel that the driver's seat is too high giving an awkward position, combined with pedals that take getting used to, but the dash layout is simple and within easy reach. Switchgear could be better and the trip computer is confusing.
