Peugeot 207 CC (07 on) - Review

Review by Dan Harrison on
Last Updated: 15 July 2010
The 207 CC is a stylish and well equipped small convertible that won't leave you cold in the winter. It uses a fully automatic metal folding roof with no levers or catches to release, so at the push of a button it's a convertible 25 seconds later. Its predecessor, the 206 CC, was plagued with roof problems on early models and lacked refinement. Luckily, these shortcomings have been addressed and this Peugeot feels well made. It's also good to drive, fun and has decent luggage space. There are two seats in the back, but as they're small and there's little legroom, they're really just for show and only any use as extra luggage space.

Buying new

There are quite a few small convertibles available and although the 207 CC may not be the cheapest, it is one of the most stylish and will always be desirable. It's worth trying to get a discount from a dealer, although it's worth noting that the Peugeot is pretty well equipped. Notable options include Bluetooth hands free phone kit, four styles of leather upholstery and ‘integral leather’ trim – where the dash and seats are covered in leather with visible saddle stitching.

Buying used

The best examples – those under three years old with good service history and low mileage – will be kept within the dealer network. Expect to pay a little more than you would from an independent dealer, but the car should have a had a thorough inspection, a check into its history and have had any blemishes or scrapes removed. As with any convertible, test drive it with the roof up and down.

Selling

All models should be easy to sell on no matter the time of year, so don’t let poor weather put you off getting the Parker’s price. The 207 CC is one convertible that’s not just for when the sun’s shining. The 1.6-litre diesel and 1.6-litre petrol with 150bhp are the most popular.
