Peugeot 307 SW (02-07) - Review Review by Parkers on 01 January 2002 Last Updated: 19 January 2007 The 307 SW is one of those cars that borrow the lifestyle tag. It's attractively styled, practical, and can hold a couple of extra kids - that's why Peugeot thinks you need one. It also takes the best bits from the 307 hatchback, including a wide choice of engines, good levels of safety and lots of room. Peugeot dealers usually have a good deal on, too. If you don't need the extra seats, then 307 comes as a traditional estate, too. 3 out of 5 Other Peugeot reviews Summary Facts & Figures Equipment Driving & Performance Comfort Costs Safety & Reliability Buying & Selling Also Consider Company Car Info Owners' Reviews Gallery 2.5 out of 5 Performance The two petrol engines (1.6 and 2.0) are fairly peppy, but not refined enough. The 1.6 is the best mix of performance and economy. Diesel models (2.0 with 90 or 110 bhp) are both frugal and fun to drive, these were replaced in 2005 with a pair of 1.6 HDIs in 90 and 110bhp forms, and a 2.0 litre unit with 136bhp. Safety now comes first and the additions of airbags, a more rigid body and electronic gizmos has weighed it down. However, it's safe, solid and easy to drive. Although the steering is light, it's not easy to park, because the rear pillars are chunky and restrict visibility. Suspension copes well with bumps but doesn't roll too much around corners.
