This is the hot version of the latest Clio, tuned by the masters at Renaultsport - the side of the firm that's responsible for motor racing. The 197 follows a simple recipe – it's a three-door Clio with a 2.0-litre engine and tuned chassis to make it an involving drive with some added-on sports styling to hammer the point home. The 197 is the most powerful version of the current Clio, offering 197bhp, delivering a top speed of 134mph and 0-62mph acceleration in a fraction under seven seconds. As is the case with all hot Clios, the 197 handles fantastically, thanks to a bespoke chassis set-up which includes wider front and rear wings and the addition of a Formula One-inspired diffuser which sucks the back of the Clio to the road.
