Renault Clio (91-98) - Review

Review by Parkers on
This efficient, economical and spacious supermini that led the market in the early 1990s. It looks a bit dated these days, but still offers its virtues of good interior space and serves up a driving experience that is above the average. There is an extensive selection of engines with three higher performance models culminating in the Clio Williams, which is one of the finest hot hatches ever built and still commands good money for a clean example. Baccara model is a mini limo with leather upholstery and wood veneer.

Running costs

Economy is generally good across the range although the 1.2 petrol and 1.9 diesel are the most frugal. Parts are not particularly cheap, especially on high performance versions which can become costly if driven hard.
