Renault Clio Sport Tourer (08 on) - Review

Renault’s Clio Sport Tourer has been designed to appeal to those who need some decent carrying capacity combined with low running costs. Going head to head with cars like Peugeot’s 207 SW and the Skoda Fabia Estate the Clio deserves some serious consideration, not least when fitted to the efficient and smooth 86bhp diesel. In May 2009 the whole Clio range benefitted from a smart new facelift.

Buying new

Similarly priced to the Skoda Fabia estate and Peugeot 207 SW, the Clio Sports Tourer is decent value for money. You should still aim for a discount though or some options included in the sale at the very least. Air-conditioning will be a worthwhile investment on lower spec models: it’s a popular feature when the time comes to sell.

Buying used

Expect to find the best used models within Renault’s dealership network. Prices will be higher from Renault than from an independent dealer, though all cars will be nearly-new and thoroughly checked over before sale.

Selling

Emphasise the estate’s key points if selling privately. The majority of buyers will have families, so be sure to tell them how versatile and comfortable it will be for them and their kids. Buyers will value models with air-conditioning and diesels.
