Rolls-Royce Phantom Saloon (03 on) - Review Review by Simon Harris on 30 May 2006 Last Updated: 04 June 2009 Rolls-Royce may be owned by BMW, but the Phantom is both individual and feels every inch the pinnacle of British-built luxury. Its appearance is certainly imposing - indeed it's too heavy-handed for some - but it travels with an unmatched elegance and style. It's a 'motor car' in the great Rolls-Royce tradition with a long list of options with which to personalise the vehicle, it has a surprising turn of speed and can be controlled with a level of precision that belies its size. If you want the best car in the world - and can afford it - we couldn't argue against choosing a Phantom. 5 out of 5 Other Rolls-Royce reviews Summary Facts & Figures Equipment Driving & Performance Comfort Costs Safety & Reliability Buying & Selling Also Consider Company Car Info Owners' Reviews Gallery Also Consider 4 out of 5 Maybach 57 (03 on) First class luxury travel by road, acres of rear space, stunning pace, wonderfully cosseting Doesn't look special, extortionate to run, unbelievably high prices, lacks classy image Read full review 4 out of 5 Bentley Arnage (98-09) Impressive agility for such a big car, sheer road presence, classy image Size and running costs Read full review 5 out of 5 Mercedes-Benz S-Class (06 on) Exceptional refinement, the pinnacle of luxury travel, superb performance, sophisticated cabin High running costs, expensive to service Read full review Find other saloon cars Car Valuations Find used car prices with Parkers accurate car valuations.
