The 75 weighs in against aspirational rivals such as 3-Series, Lexus IS and Mercedes-Benz C-Class, next to which it looks middle-aged. But it's a step up from Mondeo and Vectra status-wise, and falling prices make it a classy alternative.

Parkers Rating:

4 out of 5

The 75 weighs in against aspirational rivals such as 3-Series, Lexus IS and Mercedes-Benz C-Class, next to which it looks middle-aged. But it's a step up from Mondeo and Vectra status-wise, and falling prices make it a classy alternative. 75 has a fine pedigree and is refined, respectable, composed and comfortable. The Tourer estate and the MG ZT/ZTT spin-offs have helped to raise the 75's image still further.

The engine. While it isn't exactly the first thing people think of when it comes to practicality, that it is smooth and reliable means you can keep your attention where it should be - on the road.
