SEAT Altea XL (07 on) - Review

The trim levels were originally Reference and Stylance. It may be 'entry-level' but the Reference is still well equipped with air conditioning, height and reach adjustable steering, heated folding electrically adjustable mirrors, electric windows, split folding rear seats, CD stereo with an auxiliary socket, Isofix child seat mountings, folding tables for rear passengers, cruise control, trip computer, traction control and remote central locking. The Stylance adds dual zone climate control, rear parking sensors, rain sensitive wipers, automatic lights, silver roof rails, tinted rear windows, front fog lights, alloy wheels plus a leather steering wheel and gear lever. Later Stylance models come with a TomTom satellite navigation system. When the Altea was revised in 2009 the trim levels were changed to S, SE and Sport. The S gets air conditioning, cruise control, a CD player with auxiliary point, electric windows, height and reach adjustable steering, electric mirrors, ESP, trim computer and remote central locking. The SE adds xenon lights, dual zone climate control, steering-wheel mounted controls, tinted rear windows, electric folding mirrors, front fog lamps, leather steering wheel and gear lever plus alloy wheels while the Sport has sports suspension, sports seats and 17-inch alloys. A low emissions Ecomotive model was introduced in early 2010 and comes in either S or SE trim.
