SEAT Exeo ST (09 on) - Review Review by Dan Harrison on 05 June 2009 Last Updated: 21 February 2011 This ST estate is the load carrying version of SEAT’s upmarket and high value Exeo model. Like the saloon version, it’s heavily based on the Audi A4 that ran from 2005 to 2008. That’s good news as it looks smart, is well designed and great to drive too. But whereas Audi could be accused of being stingy when it came to standard specification, the Exeo is very well equipped – regardless of which model you choose. All cars have Bluetooth mobile phone connectivity, an iPod connection, cruise control and steering wheel-mounted stereo controls, while top models boast leather upholstery and swivelling xenon headlights. The engine range is limited, but features a great diesel engine that’s available with 120, 140 and 170bhp. 4 out of 5 Other SEAT reviews Summary Facts & Figures Equipment Driving & Performance Comfort Costs Safety & Reliability Buying & Selling Also Consider Company Car Info Owners' Reviews Gallery 4 out of 5 Safety Although the Exeo ST hasn’t been crash tested by Euro NCAP, the saloon version recieved a decent four-star rating (out of five) in official accident tests. The Exeo ST gets a comprehensive range of safety equipment including six airbags and Isofix child seat anchor points on every model. The rear seats also benefit from a top tether system to prevent child seats from spinning in the event of an accident. Other features include an electronic stability programme to help control skids and ‘active headrests’ – designed to minimise the damage caused by whiplash. SEAT says that it has partially re-engineered the original car, so that build quality is ‘even better’. Whether that’s true or not will become apparent over time. What’s clear is that the Exeo benefits from all the teething problems being sorted out on the A4 many years ago. Car check problem points Body No problems reported.
