SEAT Leon Hatchback (05 on) - Review

The original trim levels were Essence, Reference, Reference Sport and Sport, but these have been simplified to Reference, Emocion, Stylance and Sport (along with the Ecomotive low emissions models). All cars get air conditioning, electric front windows, height and reach adjustable steering, electrically adjustable mirrors, remote central locking. Key optional extra include Bluetooth connectivity, xenon headlights and sat nav. Cars from early 2008 are available with a much improved DVD-based sat nav system rather than the dated CD-based unit. It also includes a 30GB music hard drive. In 2009 the trims were changed again when the Leon was facelifted, to a slightly less complicated S, S Emocion, SE and Sport. The S gets air conditioning, a CD player with an auxiliary input, electric front windows, height and reach adjustable steering, electric mirrors, ESP, remote central locking and a trip computer. The S Emocion adds alloy wheels while the popular SE has dual zone climate control, cruise control, steering wheel mounted controls, electric windows all round, tinted rear windows and front fog lights. Sport models get sports suspension, sports seats and 17-inch alloys. In early 2010 the Ecomotive was upgraded with a cleaner engine and the low-emissions models is available in two trims - S and SE. Both are similar to the standard trims but the Ecomotive models do get a start/stop system, a closed front grille and gearbox changes. It also has a maximum weight limit which means optional extras are limited.
