Not since the days of the Arosa has SEAT been involved in the competitive city car market, but it should be a big name again in the sector with the Mii. The little hatch is a class act and is likely to cost less than the Skoda Citigo and the VW up! - the two cars that it shares a platform with.

The Mii has been crash tested by safety governing body EuroNCAP, and received the top mark of five stars. This is largely thanks to the high level of safety equipment fitted on the car including front and side head/thorax airbags. A system called City Emergency Braking system is available as part of the optional driver's assistance pack. This kit works at speeds of less than 18mph and uses a laser to detect the risk of an impending collision and can apply braking automatically.

Reliability

Built by the VW group, the SEAT Mii should prove to be a very reliable car despite being an all-new model. The fit and finish of the materials is very good and more in keeping with larger SEAT models so should stand the test of time compared to some its cheaper-feeling rivals.
