Skoda Superb (02-08) - Review

Review by Parkers
Last Updated:
Skoda's big car is big on space and big on value. It's an easy car to recommend as it's surprisingly cheap to buy used, has as much rear legroom as a Mercedes-Benz S-Class and is packed with equipment that would be optional on most other cars. Plus there are great engines (including punchy diesels), it's good to drive and has a thoughtfully designed interior (some models even have an umbrella concealed in the door). The only major downside is that it's a traditional saloon with fixed back seats, so it isn't especially practical, even though it has a large boot.

Buying used

A good car gets even more appealing once it has lost a chunk of its price thanks to depreciation. There are plenty of good second-hand examples available - many of which are retained within the Skoda used approved network and come with a one year warranty.

Selling

There’s a good market for used Superbs, so there shouldn’t be a shortage of potential buyers if it is advertised at a sensible price. The public perception of Skoda is getting better all the time but anyone who comes looking for a Superb will probably have done their homework and be hell bent on a bargain.
