Part family hatch and part SUV, the Skoda Yeti is an unusual model. It's a similar idea to the Nissan Qashqai and combines the user-friendliness and affordability of a hatchback along with the practicality of a four-wheel drive.

  • Adult Occupant Rating

    5 out of 5

The Yeti was awarded the maximum five star rating in the tougher Euro NCAP crash tests, introduced in 2009. This new overall rating covers Adult Occupant Protection, Child Occupant Protection, Pedestrian Protection and a new area of assessment: Safety Assist.

All models get driver and passenger front, side and curtain airbags while E models and above also have a driver's knee airbag. ESP stability control, which prevents the car losing control in a skid, is standard on all 4x4 version and there are Isofix child seat mounting points in the rear seats.

Reliability

The Yeti uses engines and components which have been well proven in other Volkswagen Group products. As a result it's very reliable and robust, while Skoda performs very well in customer satisfaction surveys. Recalls are also very rare.
