Subaru Forester (02-08) - Review Review by Ben Wall on 14 December 2006 The Forester won't seduce you with its looks, lacking the high performance posturing of the Impreza WRX, the imposing bulk of a proper off-roader or the sophistication of an Audi Allroad. However its compromises are also its strength, for it is far better to drive than almost any off-roader and more practical than most normal cars. It won't deal with serious off-road driving, but will cope with towing jetskis out of the water or traversing muddy fields. The biggest downside is the lack of any diesel option. A new 2.5-litre engine was added in 2004 and the range was facelifted later that same year. 4 out of 5 Other Subaru reviews Summary Facts & Figures Equipment Driving & Performance Comfort Costs Safety & Reliability Buying & Selling Also Consider Company Car Info Owners' Reviews Gallery Also Consider 3 out of 5 Honda HR-V (99-05) Funky and unusual styling, well built, reliable, available with two or four-wheel drive Dull interior, no diesel option, cramped rear seats Read full review 4 out of 5 Nissan X-Trail (01-07) Style, comfort, equipment Engines are noisy when pushed Read full review 3.5 out of 5 Land Rover Freelander Station Wagon (97-03) Land Rover know how to make a good 4X4 Pricey when compared to Japanese rivals Read full review Find other 4x4 cars Car Valuations Find used car prices with Parkers accurate car valuations.
