Subaru Impreza Saloon (00-05) - Review Review by Parkers on 01 January 2000 Best known for the high performance WRX STi versions, this Impreza is recognised for being great to drive with strong performance. The top versions are certainly impressive with masses of power and superb handling. However, refinement and finesse are in short supply and although these models are undoubtedly quick, they're not very comfortable for passengers. The standard 2.0-litre Impreza is a little lacklustre in terms of performance, but has a smoother ride and still drives well. All models come with four-wheel drive giving excellent traction, especially in the wet. This model was launched with the controversial round headlamps which found few fans. Later it was facelifted with more angled headlights. 3.5 out of 5 Other Subaru reviews Summary Facts & Figures Equipment Driving & Performance Comfort Costs Safety & Reliability Buying & Selling Also Consider Company Car Info Owners' Reviews Gallery 3.5 out of 5 Safety No Euro NCAP crash safety rating, but it gets front and side airbags and the reassurance of big brakes and plenty of grip without electronic traction control.
