Subaru Impreza Sports Wagon (05-08) - Review Review by Simon Harris on 25 September 2006 Perhaps unfairly viewed as the poor relation to the Impreza saloon, the Sports Wagon estate isn't quite as glamorous as the rally-inspired STi. However, it still represents good value, particularly with the WRX, and the non-turbo 2.0R models. New for the 2007 model year is an entry-level 1.5-litre model that aims to offer Subaru's rally heritage and all-wheel drive traction for a few hundred pounds more than the cheapest five-door Ford Focus. Although all versions are good to drive and are well equipped, despite regular revisions and refreshes the Impreza is feeling its age on the inside, with an abundance of hard plastics and old-fashioned angular designs. 3.5 out of 5 Other Subaru reviews Summary Facts & Figures Equipment Driving & Performance Comfort Costs Safety & Reliability Buying & Selling Also Consider Company Car Info Owners' Reviews Gallery Also Consider 4.5 out of 5 Ford Focus Hatchback (05-11) Good to drive, smart looking, wide choice of engines and trim levels, comfortable interior, refined ride, low emissions ECOnetic model available Boot and rear passenger space could be more practical Read full review 3.5 out of 5 Vauxhall Astra Hatchback (04-10) Neatly styled, well built, wide choice of engines, comfortable Awkward boot space, poor cabin stowage, haphazard dash layout Read full review 4 out of 5 SEAT Leon Hatchback (05 on) Sporty and distinctive styling, great to drive, well built and reliable, good value for money, low emissions Ecomotive models Firm ride, some hard interior plastics, noisy diesel engines Read full review Find other estate cars Car Valuations Find used car prices with Parkers accurate car valuations.
