Toyota Avensis Verso (01-05) - Review Review by Parkers on 01 January 2001 Toyota seems to have a people carrier for every need, from the small-but-roomy Yaris Verso, through to the tribe-carrying eight-seater Previa. This is the larger of their medium-sized MPVs (Corolla Verso is the smaller), capable of carrying seven. Reliability is outstanding, there's a fine diesel option and all models are well equipped. 4 out of 5 Other Toyota reviews Summary Facts & Figures Equipment Driving & Performance Comfort Costs Safety & Reliability Buying & Selling Also Consider Company Car Info Owners' Reviews Gallery 3.5 out of 5 Performance 2.0 VVT-i petrol, though a willing unit, feels underpowered. Go for the 2.0 diesel version: it's competent at all speeds and rather economical. Both versions cruise quietly and smoothly. 4 out of 5 Handling Sharp steering; suspension is well damped and the handling is firm; overall ride is good; gearchange isn't as precise as it is in other Toyotas; clearly laid out instruments; visibility hampered by chunky quarterlight frame next to windscreen.
