Toyota Avensis Verso (01-05) - Review

Review by Parkers on
Toyota seems to have a people carrier for every need, from the small-but-roomy Yaris Verso, through to the tribe-carrying eight-seater Previa. This is the larger of their medium-sized MPVs (Corolla Verso is the smaller), capable of carrying seven. Reliability is outstanding, there's a fine diesel option and all models are well equipped.

Safety

Every model gets dual front airbags; three point seat belts throughout; ISO-FIX child seat fixing; auto fuel cut-off; side impact bars; ABS with EBD and brake assist and vehicle stability control. Immobiliser, alarm, double locking, vehicle parts marking and security window etching standard security on GS and GLS.

Reliability

Based on the second-generation Avensis, the Verso feels solid and should present few problems if correctly maintained. Owners have reported no major problems to parkers.co.uk since it went on sale in 2001.
