Toyota Avensis Saloon (03-08) - Review Review by Parkers Last Updated: Aiming for class-leading quality (and perhaps putting into practice some of the things Toyota has learned with its luxury brand, Lexus) the Avensis represents a major leap forward over the original. The interior feels up-market and the Avensis is comfortable drive. The diesel offering was restricted to one 114bhp engine until summer 2005, although three became available, ranging from 124bhp to 175bhp, from summer 2006. All come with air conditioning, a CD player electric front windows and driver's knee airbags. T3-X adds 16-inch alloy wheels, electronic climate control, electric rear windows, auto-dimming rear-view mirror and rain-sensing windscreen wipers. The T3-S does without electric rear windows and electronic climate control but comes with a turn-by-turn satellite navigation system. The T4 is as T3-S but adds larger alloy wheels and satellite navigation. T Spirit has smaller alloy wheels than the T4 but adds cruise control, electric lumbar support with electrically adjustable front seats and leather trim. T180 is the same as T Spirit, but specific to the 175bhp 2.2 D-4D.
