Toyota tried very hard indeed to give this generation of Corolla a personality, hence the bug eyed styling. Also the rear light clusters are different for every model. It didn't really work - this Corolla is now considered as bland as every model that went before it. Only the sporty G6 attempts to inject some youth appeal.

Buying used

Toyota uprated the previous generation Corolla specifically for European motoring tastes. There are four body styles (three-door hatchback, five-door hatchback, saloon and estate) plus three engine options (1.3, 1.6 and a 2.0 litre diesel). Not a completely convincing small car, although the tradition Toyota attributes of good build quality and warranty all help.

Reliable, affordable mid-size cars - like Corolla should have no problems selling, providing it's at the right price.
