Toyota Land Cruiser (03-09) - Review Review by Parkers on 09 February 2007 It may be the smaller brother of the Land Cruiser Amazon, but the Land Cruiser is still a whopper in its own right if you pick the five-door model. If you need something rugged to look the part outside the school gates then we'd suggest you buy a Volvo XC-90 or Lexus RX300 as they're better to drive on the road, (although school-runners will appreciate the fact that a Land Cruiser has eight seats). What it lacks in terms of on-road agility, it makes up for in go-anywhere talent, so if you don't get it dirty you'll never know just how good it can be. 3.5 out of 5 Other Toyota reviews Summary Facts & Figures Equipment Driving & Performance Comfort Costs Safety & Reliability Buying & Selling Also Consider Company Car Info Owners' Reviews Gallery Also Consider 4 out of 5 Volvo XC90 (02 on) Comfortable and refined, seven seats as standard, excellent D5 diesel engine, reliable and well-built Doesn't handle as well as alternatives like the X5, sluggish Geartronic automatic, thirsty petrols Read full review 3 out of 5 Mitsubishi Shogun (00-06) Strong off-road ability, robust build quality, very reliable Poor on road handling, agricultural diesels Read full review 4 out of 5 Volkswagen Touareg (03-09) Great off road, premium car feel, astonishing V10 diesel, refined and quiet on the move, Bluemotion model available Lacks the upmarket image of a BMW X5 or Range Rover Sport Read full review Find other 4x4 cars Car Valuations Find used car prices with Parkers accurate car valuations.
