Toyota Previa (00-05) - Review

Previa is one of the MPV world's grandees. It was originally launched in 1990 and was one of the first purpose-built people-carriers on the market. The current model went on sale in 2000, with a space-age look, better practicality and, most importantly, a diesel engine. Ten-year-old examples still fetch upwards of £2000 - an indicator of how highly regarded they are.

Buying used

No such thing as a cheap Previa - so prepare to dig deep. Toyota dealers mop-up the best stock, but it's becoming a more common sight at independent retailers. There are some good private-sale examples.

Selling

No shortage of takers for this premium MPV. All models are popular on the used market - and with dealers - but the 2.0 D-4D is most sought after, as there are fewer around (it was launched in 2001).
