Toyota RAV4 (06 on) - Review

The entry-level XT3 has four-wheel-drive, a limited slip diff, electric power steering, height and reach-adjustable steering, electric windows, heated electric door mirrors, CD stereo, air conditioning, remote central locking, driver's seat height adjustment, 17-inch alloy wheels and roof rails. XT4 adds vehicle stability control, hill start assist, downhill assist control (auto only), retractable door mirrors, an electric sunroof, leather steering wheel, leather gear lever, a six CD autochanger, dual-zone climate control, glovebox chiller, leather upholstery and front fog lamps. The XT5 has climate control, auto-dimming rear mirror, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, electrically adjustable driver's seat and heated front seats. The range-topping T180 gets a tyre pressure warning system, rear privacy glass, wheelarch extensions, chrome grille, 18-inch alloy wheels with run-flat tyres and headlamps with a smoked glass finish. In January 2007 an XT-R trim was introduced which comes with leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, Bluetooth, keyless entry and start, heated front seats, electric driver's seat, automatic headlights and wipers, a six-CD changer, auxiliary socket, electric heated mirrors and stability control. In July 2008 the T180 model was dropped - replaced by the SR180 and in September 2008 the range was simplified to just XT-R and SR. The latter gets smoked glass headlamp covers, paddle shift controls for the automatic gearbox, wheel arch extensions and a reversing camera with a display screen integrated in the rear-view mirror.
