Vauxhall Agila (00-07) - Review Review by Parkers on 02 March 2006 Although very similar to the Suzuki Wagon R+, the Agila has some key differences that means it's more than just a Suzuki with a Vauxhall Grille. Firstly it comes with 1.0-litre and 1.2-litre engines, whereas the majority of Wagon R+s are 1.3s, had different equipment levels and trims. It makes an effective urban runabout, but is outclassed on the motorway. 2 out of 5 Other Vauxhall reviews Summary Facts & Figures Equipment Driving & Performance Comfort Costs Safety & Reliability Buying & Selling Also Consider Company Car Info Owners' Reviews Gallery 3.5 out of 5 Running costs Despite being cheaper to buy, the Agila is not as well equipped as its close cousin, the Suzuki Wagon R+, although it depreciates slower thanks to the Vauxhall badge. The satisfactory fuel consumption of around 45 mpg in daily use and a cheap group 2 insurance will save you money, making the Agila a cost effective choice for those on a budget. Emissions summary Agila scores very well on the eco front. With an average of 147 g/km CO2 across the range, its emissions are comparably low for a mini estate. It's worth noting that the line-up does not feature any diesel models, which typically produce less carbon dioxide than petrol engines with similar power outputs. Eco-conscious buyers should consider the 1.0-litre petrol, which is one of the greenest models in the range. The range is impressively frugal, averaging 46 mpg.
