Vauxhall Agila (08 on) - Review Review by Dan Harrison on 27 February 2008 Last Updated: 27 August 2009 The Agila is a small car that's roomy and flexible on the inside, much in the same vein as the Honda Jazz and Renault Modus. Its height makes it slightly more versatile than a traditional small car (like Vauxhall’s own Corsa) and fold-flat seats means that it has the carrying capacity of a small van. It’s available with three engines and the 1.2-litre is the pick of the bunch for a mixture of performance and economy. The Agila is actually built for Vauxhall by Suzuki, which produces its own version called the Splash. The big difference is that an equivalent Splash is better value - and comes with more standard equipment. 4 out of 5 Other Vauxhall reviews Summary Facts & Figures Equipment Driving & Performance Comfort Costs Safety & Reliability Buying & Selling Also Consider Company Car Info Owners' Reviews Gallery 4.5 out of 5 Running costs Go for the 1.0-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel and road tax is kept reasonably low; buyers of the 1.2-litre will pay a little more. Fuel consumption figures are reasonable, with 56.5mpg possible on the 1.0-litre and up to 62.8 on offer on the 1.3-litre diesel. The 1.2-litre lags behind a little with 51.4mpg as a manual and 47.9mpg as an auto. It's also reasonably cheap to insure and Vauxhall servicing is good value for money. * based on most recent data Estimated fuel cost for 10,000 miles per year Unleaded £1,023 - £1,306 * Diesel £1,034 - £1,034 * The estimated fuel cost figure is a guide to how much this model will cost to fuel each year, so you can compare between cars. Emissions summary The small Vauxhall Could do better on the green front. Both the 1.0-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel are an acceptable 120g/km of CO2 (although this isn’t as good as similar cars), but the 1.2-litre is 131/gkm as a manual and 142 g/km as an automatic and therefore less efficient and more expensive to tax.
