Vauxhall Astra Convertible (01-05) - Review

Review by Parkers on
The four-seater soft-top Vauxhall Astra Convertible is based on the sleek-looking Astra Coupé and is a sensible choice for those who can't stretch to a Saab 9-3 or Audi A4. Attractively styled by Italian design team Bertone and one of the most popular variants of the Mk4 Astra, this convertible offers buyers a bargain proposition blending great looks, a stylish electric hood and potent performance at a price that won’t break the bank. The impressive Astra TwinTop succeeded Astra Convertible in 2006.

Buying used

Astra Convertible is a decent car for the money, as it’s cheap to buy secondhand and still doesn’t look out of place when parked next to more modern rivals. There are still plenty of models available in Vauxhall’s Network Q used approved scheme. All models undergo a 114-point check, and come with a year’s unlimited mileage guarantee. All vehicles’ mileage and previous history are verified and there’s a 30-day exchange promise, too. With a comprehensive package like that and lots of Astras available, you should be spoilt for choice. However, it’s probably best to avoid the gaudy metallic green model. Selling

It's important not to price yourself out of the market, but if priced sensibly and kept in good condition, there should be a fair amount of interest. Convertibles sell all year round but are particularly sought after in Spring and Summer, and a full service history will also boost your chances of a sale.
