Vauxhall Astra Hatchback (91-98) - Review Review by Parkers on 01 January 1991 A long-running favourite with family buyers but now looking dated. The Astra fulfils most people's expectations of an inexpensive small family car thanks to affordable running costs. There's a huge choice of versions to suit most purposes but higher specification models would be the ones to seek out. Older cars may have been through many hands and possibly 'clocked', so be very wary if history is incomplete. 2.5 out of 5 Other Vauxhall reviews Summary Facts & Figures Equipment Driving & Performance Comfort Costs Safety & Reliability Buying & Selling Also Consider Company Car Info Owners' Reviews Gallery Also Consider 2.5 out of 5 Ford Escort Hatchback (90-01) Easy to drive; cheap to run Rivals offer more comfort and finesse Read full review 3 out of 5 Peugeot 306 Hatchback (93-01) Handling, big-car ride, value.
